The Miracle of Birth

I am real happy today! I am an uncle...again! My sis Reeta and bro-in-law, Ronnie, just became proud parents to a huge and healthy 7.2 lbs hunk.

Reeta had her contractions around 9ish (AM) on 9th Sept. She had been hoping for a normal delivery with no epidural. Her stoic intention (epidural) gave way around 10ish (AM). Still going for a normal delivery she hung in there till midnight (10th Sept).

Her doc came in around then and advised that the kid was too huge and a C-Section was the way to go.

At 12.56 AM the hunk was pulled onto planet earth (Man! He's so gorgeous!)

Hair jet black and soft. Bright red lips slapping and pouting. Little fingers with the finest nails I have ever seen...all cuddled up wrapped in comfy blue/white checkered cloth. I was choking. I became protective. Standing over this angel, this miracle...

I can't find the right words to say more...but then you can never justify bliss or nirvana verbally or in text.

I stood over the hunk staring. I felt powerless and at its mercy. Can you understand that? A smile came upon my face when he, for a brief 2 second, had the "Reeta is pissed off!" look.

Reeta was wheeled into her room at about 2 am or just before this time. Drowsy and exhausted she tried to raise her hand to indicate she was well. I bent over and whispered, "He looks like you when you're pissed off". She smiled and showed me the middle finger.

They've yet to name him. "R" is the letter of choice. I'll keep you posted.

Peace,
